My name is Florence Kaiser Price Wollaston. I was raised on Canton Street in Hartford before they ever built Bellevue Square. Lived up the hill on Canton Street. We lived down the hill on Canton Street. The railroad tracks were right down the bottom of the hill before they ever built the dike. They used to have a lot of floods. And we used to flood our street right up to the corner of Canton and Bellevue Street. The water would come from the river, Connecticut River, and my father helped to build that dike later. And from Canton Street we moved to Bellevue Street. Lived in 1 or 2 different places on Bellevue Street.
